chromecast tv - tablet

Even more strange, it's now working fine, think I might just need a double ariel router, think as is, it will be iffy, with my present bog standard Next router

the tv recognises the chromecast, and the HDMI port it is plugged into. Dont think the tv is the problem.

When I plug mine into my (Samsung) tv, all I have to do is press the 'Source' button on my handset and scroll up or down the available sources until I find the Chromecast... Which usually says HDMI14 Chromecast, or similar. Then I acn cast from my tablet/phone.

If you're not finding it, try plugging into different HDMI slot.

When last in Blighty I brought a Chromecast thingy. Got it to work in the UK,  now the problem is, launch chromecast, and the dongle on the tv recognises it and boots up fine. My tablet recognises it when you open the app. But cannot find the chromecast on the tv, any ideas what I am doing wrong, the apps I am trying to use are chromecast ready.
