It will depend on the signal strength/distance to transmitter at your property. I use several in different rooms with no issues and good reception - these are the mains powered type and I am quite close to the transmitter.

I will say you can't beat an external though and are easy enough to fit yourself or give one of satellite guys that advertise on here a call if you don't fancy fitting an external yourself.
