Thanks - I'll be very interested in the outcome.  I also find it interesting that they supposedly have a policy of non-discrimination......  I would have thought this was a clear case of discrimination, possibly enshrined in 'law'.

The relevant Spanish 'Royal Decrees' are not normally the problem. It is the petty bureaucrats in local offices who decide to 'interpret' them who are usually responsible for all the trouble...

I have just spoken to our accountant who is going to check when they go to hercalovera this week. They think it may be a case of having our relationship formally registerd in almeria ( more taxes). But they will call me when they have been. I will of course post the info when they call me. It's the same old story, when you play ball they move the net!! And expect us to pay for the pleasure!!

Can't understand it then.  As I say, my partner is still receiving his specialist and GP based health care etc with no problem.  Have you spoken to your accountant about it?  I've tried to find something on the appropriate websites etc, but can't find anything.  Its very worrying if this is the case, as I pay my seguridad social, (and have done so for a number of years), specifically to ensure that my partner receives healthcare until he reaches the age of 65.  Strange that the banking businesses are accepting the Certificado but seguridad social are not.  I'm off to do a bit more digging on this.

Yes we have it all also, we only went for replacement card for wife as renewing residencia!!. They said they are giving this info to foreigners every day with the same form they gave us.

We've not had a problem El Curato & not heard of the new law.  Both still receiving all health care etc, despite not being married.  Do you have a Certificado de Convivencia?  If you don't, it may be worth checking with your local town hall and requesting one from them.  Its basically a certificate stating that you live together & is taken a the 'equivalent' of a marriage certificate for times when you need one.  Our was accepted by our bank just last month as proof that we are a formal couple.

I posted previously under residencia info wanted.

I have just returned from hercalovera NI office to be told that although I have paid social security for the past five years, my partner whom I have lived with for the past 13 years is no longer registerd as a dependent since a new law last September because we are not married !!!. When asked why I have never received any correspondence informing. Me of this change, the lady said no one had been written to. Can this be right?

Any info appreciated
