Good old days when work was work

i think it was 6" dia 5/16 wall and 6 m length ,s it used to take 4 of us to lift them.... i couldn't even bend down now and pick the flanges up off the floor now.....

best pipe job i had was on the plant fitting making our own steel  hydraulic pipes up ...

great times but crap money in the early 80,s....apart from weekends at a tenner an hour

Tets I hope you used the seamless pipework and not that ERW stuff, I wouldn't allow that on site.

Have you tried Keith at metal works or Jon at the back of jumacer .

ive got the shipyard type thick wall tube bender ,

but you need a tube bender for erw tube which is done with a mandrel ,to stop the pipe from kinking

suggest an hydraulic shop as this is how they make the hydraulic pipes  have a word here ,they will know somebody local ...ish

this is the bender you need https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0rhi9aiVhY

this is the bender most of us have  in the  workshops which you may get away with by packing the tube with sand, depending on wall thickness

Does anyone know a garage or mechanic that has equipment for bending metal tube. I need someone who can bend tubing for a badge bar and a custom exhaust pipe for an old car (I have the tube).
I've tried several local garages and Longo's without success.

Thanks, David
