You could also use the Connem method.
Connect bulb& holder for air  bag light to a supply for something else that comes on with ignition & goes out when started.
temporarily of course until you rectify problem. :wave

hells teeth Brother Gus.... stop it yell get us de frocked with ideas like that  ;D

Thanks Micky & Malcolm

im going to get hold of ford and order the correct air bag panel bulb ( im not sure if its an led or a standard small type 12 v as the opening for the lamp holder is a diffrent size to the other lamps ) for the model, ive replaced the seat connectors just in case they were giving an intermittent connection,so if i can get the light on i should be able to see the fault code by the number of flashes.i will also leave the battery of for an hour and see if anythink clicks in.

Sometimes disconnecting the battery for a few minutes can resolve things. Worth a try?

For the test they should come on when ign is switched on then go out. I take it you have one staying on ?

The bulbs on the dash, like the tyres date & codes, are a new thing for ITV's and have only been an issue for the last few months. I am no expert but I would think the re set equipment must be a specialist thing and so may need a trip to a garage. Good luck.

Yes Jim its main dealer but you can buy the re code gear wich somebody may have,as for it going into a main dealer here.... having its dash pulled and every bit changed and a large bill.... i would rather have all mi teeth pulled without gas.... so hopefully we will have someone on the panel.  :)
