Title: Fire door sealant
Post by: artie on January 12, 2017, 19:56:41 PM
Anybody know where I can buy the sealing twine/rope that fits in a groove in the door of a log fire? I discovered today in a Leroy Merlins that there are many different sizes, but why, I can't imagine!

Most ferreterias have the rope and adhesive in stock this time of year.  There are different sizes (thickness of rope) because doors vary from make to make.  O our Fire I need a thick rope for the door seal but a thinner one between the the glass and the door.

Thank you both. Got from le Panto, although it's also available at Longos. Made a bit of a horlicks replacing the rope but so far it seems to work. Just in time, looking at the forecasts! Thanks again.
