A useful tip to avoid a problem we had . Make a note of the old passport numbers before you destroy them . Our daughter after renewing hers and destroyed the old one without doing that . A year later she contacted her phone supplier to ask for a pass code to use the online facilities , they asked her for the number as proof of identity , she couldn't give it and although true they would not accept her story or discus anything or send the code .
If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours .

I have had 3 passports since I have held my residencia and never had a problem. They just take the number when you apply for it, if you all ready have it, it doesnt matter

Hi All

I have just renewed my passport about 18 months ago, and was wondering if I had to apply for a new residence certificate (which I dont at moment) what would happen.  I have heard that they can be quite difficult as they dont seem to accept the fact that the passport number changes and of course on old NIE or details it is linked to passport number?
