Of course the Guardia make their own rules up.  Maybe you should have a Spanish Licence Rtis - depending on your circumstances.

For full information look at GC's website N332 to find out when you are required to change your licence - it is not as some would have you believe.

Of course, having read the actual rules and having been fined, then you have to go through the balls-ache of appealing - good luck with that.

We changed ours about May, UK ones still in date, (Stopped by G men,told to change !) went to C.A.T services and they done all the service including trip to Almeria .

Where do you have to go to renew your license? If you
Have a UK license can you change it to a Spanish one
before it expires? Been told lots of different answers to
my questions so I thought I would give you guys/girls
the opportunity to answer. Thanks in advance

We called in and asked the same question. Answer - just come in when the old licence has 4-6 weeks remaining. Which we did. Then went through the same procedure as before with medical questionnaire, driving reaction 'test' and photograph. Paid money and new licence arrived a few weeks later.
