Windscreen De-icer.

   If you have a garage, and many do, keep your car in it at night, many don't.It seems that expensive cars are left   outside, while comparatively cheap garden tools etc. are stored inside the garage.

You lot need to realise you live in a "warm country" (at least according to Ian Duncan Smith) and don't need de-icers.

That's what I do. A litre of water at 30 degrees C does the job. Boiling water will crack the screen with thermal shock.

should have made it clearer(no pun)

Doh, just switch on the car and put the heater on the windscreen, job done in 2 minutes.

Have you tried the todo shops? I know they sell windscreen scrapers

NO !! NOT HOT WATER !!!! It will most likely crack the screen ,
