The heat it is here at the moment think beer would evaporate before the little "b's" have had a chance to sip it. Does work though.

My answer to keeping the snail population down is a daily walk around my garden with a bucket of water laced with washing up liquid in which to drown them.
Laborious job initially because I have millions of the blighters to start with but at least they don't appear to return ...until the following year :head
If there are toooo many on a particular plant then I have to cut it right back.
Putting gravel/bark around plants helps 'cos they don't like rough surfaces.

I am under attack from an army of snails, eating every tree plant in their way. i have two very large fields and the only way i find to kill them effectively is to smash them with a stick. they number in their thousands and clumb in large balls its never ending. Does any body know of a method of killing these pests without hurting or damaging the wildlife?
Ramblizo's sold me a powder that is ment to make everything taste bad and drive them away, but i think they like it. Any ideas?
