There are plenty available to download free on the internet. BBC Sounds offers a good selection of short and abridged stories. And YouTube is a great source of audiobooks (just search for audiobooks). You can always download them and then put them on tape or cd, if that's really necessary.

UK public libraries probably have some of the best selections of freebies, if you've retained your membership!
