Been a Stones fan since a kid and seen them about 30 times.
Great gig about a week ago with Mick Taylor on this song which was a highlight of the tour so far.
http://youtu.be/QYEM2Jel38c
Good clip. The debate still goes on about Mick Taylor's contribution and whether they were better before Mick, after Mick or with Mick. Personally I like they're work from 1963 to date.
I like all their stuff from the very early years to present day.
Gotta see them live and up close to realy see how good they still are,but at the ticket prices they charge on this tour,I won't be there.
Fave gigs live were MSG New York, 2003 and The Point,Dublin and Barcelona around the same year.
The Mick Taylor years, in my opinion, were the best musically and my fave music DVD is 'Ladies and Gentlemen' which is live songs from the 1972 U.S.A. tour.
I hope they give Mick T a few more songs as the tour go's on.
Been 4 max up until now. :wave
Hi, seen them 3 times, WHAT a SHOW, fantastic EVERY time. I have always been a huge Jagger fan, and he still looks good for 69,
would love to see them a final tine, if they come out to Almeria
Fantastic clip from the GREATEST group in the WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! and still the BEST.
Memory Motel.................one of my fave Stones song. Watch in HD if you can.
Played In Boston last night.
http://youtu.be/FmUYR-N1Lc4
Great Midnight Rambler last Friday.
http://youtu.be/MNpms5HfXKE
The Rolling Stones playing at Glastonbury tonight on BBC 2. Micks allowing first hour of show.
Nice clip of Satisfaction from Boston.
http://youtu.be/GE-2_DVkKsY
well im gonna watch it and really hope they prove me wrong cos every video or clip of them ive ever
seen playing live, they are hopeless, in fact they aint even that good
if they are good i´ll be the first to post on here and apologise
here´s hoping
Each to their own Mr bigbaz. :drinks:

yep Baz I am cringing just thinking about it....but like you I am happy to apologise
If you don't like 'em,don't bother listening to 'em.
Listen and like whatever takes yer fancy.
Different things for different people. :tiphat:
The Stones have not been in the West Country since they performed at the opening of Stonehenge. IMO they were pretty good and I am sure the atmosphere at Glasto was amazing
they were as usual rubbish
how can anybody say they are any good
they have always been rubbish
wrote some great pop songs but from
what i can see could never ever play
they are just an embarrassment now
Loved them! Absolutely amazing for OAPs! Whatever Mick Jagger´s on I´d like some too please!
Got to agree with bigbaz mostly. I used to like them in the early days, but like most old stars they should knock it on the head. it was like watching a horror show and they don't play to good either, but full marks for not keeling over.
I've stopped going to old band gigs due to the disappointment I always feel, Greame has it right.
I think it's being in the presence of the old greats that turns people on, not the show on the night.
I feel the same about BB King, Buddy Guy, Peter Green, Bryan Ferry and many more, there are better bands in pubs these days :tiphat:
well i certainly agree with that
but i dont think they have ever been any good as players
i see paul rodgers a lot, he is now 64, hes as good as he ever was
i just dont know how the stones have got away with it all these yrs
the biggest hype in rock n roll history
Personally, I thought they were great last night. Spoke to a couple of friends this morning who are Glastonbury veterans, and they told me it was such an electric atmosphere building up. The anticipation of seeing The Rolling Stones on the Pyramid Stage.
I appreciate we have different tastes , but I love The Rolling Stones music, and that's never gonna change. :drinks:
Anyone who's interested. Here's the second half of the show.
http://youtu.be/OM51e8Stat8
and good luck to u crawdaddy, if u love em, u love em
I think the worry is..... like any band or not.... its very difficult for someone in later years to play & sing like they did when they were in there 20,s,ive seen ac&dc live , springsteen, in the past couple of years very very good,my veiw is,if you get the chance at a sensible price go and see the old firms wile you still can, because we are all destined to be listening to all this modern manufactured talent less crap (with a few exeptions ) sooner rather than later once all the top bands and performers decide to stay on the islands. :tiphat:
No matter which group or singer you enjoy listening to or seeing on stage, none of them can perform in their sixties as well as they did in their youth.
Have to agree with Graeme.. I too saw them at the Ealing Club 1961 ish, (Down the steps by the Railway) lived in Hanwell at the time.
Pack it in Graeme
how can i say ur argumentative when you agree with me
cos u love to argue on forums
Having said the thought of them playing made me 'cringe' at the start of this thread, I will say they came across better than expected. But all the self indulgent guitar playing ,woo hoos etc just went on too long. Keith looked like he may keel over at any point, and I reckon Ronnie spent most of the set standing by him in case he did.
Michael Eavis has apparently booked another 'iconic' headliner for next year. Here's hoping its not Genesis ::)
haha, see Graeme, u love arguing
awaywiththefairies, i reckon the worst band i ever saw live was genesis at reading fest 1973
sounds like you´re arguing to me
Some people like tea and some like coffee , everybody to there own personal choice as no body is right?
As a dj there are quite a few tunes which gets most people dancing, Mavericks - Dance the night away, is one.
like I say everyone to there own personal choice.
Rolling stones are Icons of British rock music and have created some great tracks and I applaud them for still mixing it with the younger rock groups like kasabian, killers, snow patrol and kings of Leon.
This was the opener of The Stones show at Glastonbury.
May seem a familiar song.
http://vimeo.com/69468539
All the BBC stuff been taken off.
Closest decent clip I found forGlastonbury Girl.
Really looking forward to the two Hyde Park gigs and I'm sure they will please the fans as much as Glastonbury.
http://vimeo.com/69468540
Totally Brilliant as always.
After watching them at Glastonbury, I can honestly say very dissapointing... If ever you had the urge to run on stage with wheelchairs and oxygen tanks, that was the gig..
You don't like them.................fair enough.
As I've said before in this thread.
Differant tastes for differant people.Do yer own thing. Would be a boring world otherwise. :handshake
I've deleted the last 3 posts cos the videos have been taken down.
If I come across anything interesting for Stones fans ,I will post it,but that's the end of this leg of the tour.
More dates rumoured for Europe by the end of 2013 maybe. :tiphat:
New gigs in Europe by the end of the year hopefully.
Great performance of a fairly well known song, not that long ago to some of us oldies.
http://youtu.be/FUTQrxidVms
Another great performance of the same song by a differant performer.
Way back in 1974.
http://youtu.be/wQPlU5q1CBI
LOVE EM, LOVE, LOVE EM, they must have something they've been around long enough.
Yes Jill, they are still a crowd puller when it comes to live music. I've been a fan since I heard their first single,'Come On', way back about 1964 time.
Their great years ,in my opinion, were late '60's ,early '70's,specially when Mick Taylor was lead guitar.
Still a great live act and Glastonbury has been aclaimed by fans as best Stones gig in recent years.
I knew a few Stones fans who went there and they loved the whole 3 days of Glastonbury. :D
A great bit of nostalgia here for all us oldies. Never shown on U.K. TV.
Renowned by Stones fans cos they had to follow James Brown at the very end of the show. :drinks:
http://youtu.be/oLmZRyUbgFI
Thanks Crawdady, really enjoyed the Stones.
Just a sideline to the video of the TAMI show in 1964,with some vintage performances by so many great artists.
Notably, The Rolling Stones and James Brown.
Leon Russell on piano and Glen Campbell on guitar were playing that night as members of the Wrecking Crew, the house band for the night.
Session musicians for so many great American hit records of that time. :drinks:
Thanks-loved it, "those five fellas from England" certainly got everyone rockin!:)
Funny you mention Glen Campbell crawdaddy, I'm sure he was with the Beach boys when I saw them in the early days, can't remember where 8)
Yeh ! Glen Campbell stood in for Brian Wilson in 1964- 65 when Brian had medical problems. His own career was starting to take off and he didn't stay long. Poor fella has got alzeimers now and I think his touring days may be over. Always loved the Beach Boys music.
This was original trailer for the film in U.S.A. cinemas in 1964.
DVD came out about 2010 and features the ''exponants of the MerseyBeat.........The Rolling Stones.''
Shows how much they knew at the time.
A bit of nostalgia.
http://youtu.be/HpYIWThQbYU
Really good youtube clip of great gig at Wembley many years ago. I was there about 50 metres from stage which was fairly close.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=dZesbTTpsVk
:drinks:
Rolling Stones at Hyde Park summer of 2013 on BBC1 tonight.
I will be watching it and just a trailer really for the DVD coming out in November.
Brother in law was there and said the whole day at Hyde Park was great.
Very warm at both gigs, but plenty of good live music.
im sure it would look a bit better if keith richards would mime in time to the music
I really think they should knock it on the head, before they hurt themselves. They just can't do it any more, it's all about mustard really. ::)
Two Rolling Stones and some great guests at that super venue,Royal Albert Hall last night for Bluesfest.
Great night of Blues in tribute to Jimmy Reed.

Two Rolling Stones playing last night at The Cutting Room, a great little place in New York.
Last show of their tribute gigs to Jimmy Reed.
Blues players get better as they get older. BB King is still going strong at 80+ years old.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCPdUIhuwko
Anyone interested going to see a good band in 2014.
The Rolling Stones will be in South East Asia,Dubai ,Oz and NZ Feb -March and maybe more dates.
May use it as an excuse to meet old friends and relatives from old days when I lived that way in late '60's early '70's.
Great days and a lot younger then. :drinks:
The Stones played 2nd night of 3 in Tokyo last night and wiped the cobwebs of an oldie not played live since the mid '70's.
'Silver Train' , with great slide guitar from a young Mick Taylor in this old clip.
He was also on stage last night but can't find any decent youtube clips yet. Went down a storm with the fans last night in Tokyo. :drinks:
http://youtu.be/iOUetwr3h04
The Rollin' Stone's, in my pers'onal opinion, are highly overrated and annoying.
So are you pal. :drinks:
Coming to Madrid in June one concert in Spain
Hoping to be there on June 25th at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, home of Real Madrid.
Also hoping for Berlin on June 10th if I can get a ticket. Playing at an outside amphitheatre called Waldbuhne. :drinks:
Mick Taylor is on board for the Europe tour and this is him with The Stones at his very best in London 1973.

Off to Oslo for first gig of Europe tour on May 26th.
Spending 4 nights there and first time visit.
Should be a good night. :wave
Had a great night out in Oslo with some Viking Stones fans in an Irish pub with an Irish band playing.
Got back to hotel about 2am feeling quite merry.
Playing first gig on Europe Tour, so really looking forward to seeing Mick Taylor on stage with them.
Weather here is pretty warm and very pleasant. :D
Lucky you! Hope Mick's ok after all he's been through-expect the support he gets from his fans will help. Am absolutely sure it'll be a great night :)
Yes! I am sure everyone here is gonna have a great night.
Was at the arena outside yesterday evening ,with Stones Viking fans mainly, where they played the dress rehearsal .
Sound was excellent outside are we virtually know what the setlist will be.
Also met Chuck Leveall and his missus sightseeing and had a chat and took a few pics.
He was also keyboard player with Allman Brothers Band many years ago.
Having a great time. :wave
First gig off the tour here in Oslo, and an ideal place to start.
Lovely laid back city, and not being bothered by the press and media so much.
Had a great time here and great to see them play in another different country. :D
Loving this blog!
I'am also loving this blog!!!!!
Didn't really know what a blog is, but looked it up on Google and found out.
If anyone thinks it is not suitable for the forum, let me know.
I'm off to Zurich next weekend for another Stones gig and usually give my comments on various Stones sites who give loads of feedback.
Any comments on interested or not, just tell me.
I can take a hint. :drinks:
Still in Zurich and what a great time yesterday.
Good seats and a great show.
Weather great here, sunny and not too warm at 20-22C.
Coming back to Los Hig Wednesday via Gatwick.
Will look for decent YouTube clips of Oslo and Zurich if anyone interested. :wave
This was opening of Oslo show and atmosphere was electric.
First gig in mainland Europe since 2007.

This is a video of Zurich my friend Andreea has been doing as part of her Tour Diary. A very cool girl and can make a good video.
I know she went to Oslo,Lisbon and Zurich.
The videos run into each other I think, but you may wan't to skip the girls yapping maybe.

Lucky Lady!
Hope you're enjoying hearing about the Stones Tour of Europe tonychris.
Just got back to Arboland and still buzzin' from the gigs.
Just having a rest from the travelling and having a great time, :drinks:, to take it all in.
Only other show I'm going to is Madrid at the Bernebau Stadium.
Accommodation and train from Almeria booked but no ticket yet for the show.
From experience, I know that tickets will be around at face value or less, on the day of the show.
If anyone is interested, this is a video from the highest point in Zurich on the day I left Switzerland.
I was asked by a few fans to post it on a couple of websites as a reminder of Zurich. :D
http://youtu.be/Xk_VndsEq44
Excellent video, hope you can get one at the Madrid show
One of my fave Stones songs,Out of Control, played in Zurich.
http://youtu.be/ucgJgBbL30g
Just found Worried About You from Oslo and a good Satisfaction, giving you some idea of the arena in Oslo.
Second smallest venue of Europe tour at 23,000 .
http://youtu.be/J80uNSZOZOo
http://youtu.be/GrKOqqgvhPQ
Was looking to see when Adelante playing locally while I'm here, and going next Sunday afternoon at Mojacar.
Noticed your name there tonychris on their facebook page so hope to see you there. :tiphat:
I never get tired of this one played live. Nice bit at about 4:30 when Mick Taylor can't find his slide and asks Keith if he can use his. :D
http://youtu.be/-SnivIEtcL8
Just found out I gotta premium pista ticket for Madrid gig, so that will save me looking for a decent ticket when I get there Monday.
Can start enjoying myself as from today. :drinks:
Hope you have a great time, lucky ******!!!!!! :tiphat:
Street Fighting Man played last night.
First time on the Europe tour.
Keith and Ronnie not sure when to end it. :D

Been trying to post this all day but must be doing something wrong.

Lots of videos of this song at Madrid, and this gives a little idea of what it was like to be there, right up front standing. A fantastic experience I will never forget.

:clap:Fantastic link, thank you Crawdaddy :handshake
You lucky b#####d!!!! ++= I only managed to see them once many years ago at Wembley stadium. I doubt if I'll get the chance again.
These videos from Madrid weren't bad as well from same guy who was seated at lowest tier to standing /dancing area.
http://youtu.be/84fEMk3jJ7Q
http://youtu.be/NWvT5UD0pL0
http://youtu.be/f_tmjSgpqKI
Thanks once again for the links :handshake Fantastic band. I also got to see them at Wembley a few years ago. Hope they make a disc of this tour as you can't see Charlie in these links.
Made me laugh at some gigs, there were posters around saying, 'This show is being filmed. If you don't want to be filmed, please leave now'.
Heard there will be a DVD box set out, probably by Christmas, with Madrid being a featured gig.
Found this one of intro and JJF, which started off this great show and can see Charlie quite often on the big screens.
http://youtu.be/MdDyUVPpCVY
Start Me Up was another great singalong and audience jumping and dancing number.
Amazing, a Spanish audience going crazy over a bunch of 70 year old, skinny English guys.
http://youtu.be/eZ8JNrwKIVQ
Still buzzing from that show when I watch these videos, even though it all happened a fortnight ago. :drinks:
Brilliant!!!!!
Would you go to a Rolling Stones gig and spend the whole show filming it ?
I certainly wouldn't but some nice close up footage. Looks like the guy has edited it down to hour and a half.
Big thanks to him for posting this up front video. :tiphat:
Wouldn't be surprised if the Stones get this one taken down 'cos of the very close up filming.
http://youtu.be/q_kJpcBtAAM
Nice clip, Rolling Stone the best of the best.
Great clips. As long as I have breath in my body I will never tire of these guys :romance:
Well ,there are at least five of us Essex Girl, tonychris, albertjames, and Chumbagel, who are not closet Rolling Stones fans.
I've had a great time since May 26th at Oslo, seeing three great gigs live.
South America Feb/March is my next gigs although not announced yet, but it's gonna be on.
Nothing new on The Stones front apart from this very recent interview with Mick talking about his new James Brown Biopic Film.
James Brown has always been a fave of mine since the '60's.
It's a bit long and ramblin' at times but worth a look.
Hope you can see it as I could, but outside of USA, some areas it barred from seeing, like BBC does. :drinks:
http://www.today.com/video/today/55676583/#55676583
Not much happening in Stonesworld, but here's a few trailers for James Brown biopic that Mick Jagger co-produced.
Should be a good film I reckon'.
Also last clip is my fave of the great man. :wave

All the Oz gigs and Auckland gig not here now on forum, but watched this fave DVD of mine last night.
Would have loved to see The Stones with Brian Jones and Mick Taylor playing back in the old days, but this is a good gig from 1972.
Great guitar playing from Mick Taylor.
Sound is a lot lower than most youtube clips for some reason. Skip to 3 minutes before any action starts.
So glad I saw him play on three gigs in Europe this year. :drinks:
http://youtu.be/AIChfobFujg
Thanks Crawdaddy, shame they lost all the vids of this years tour!
Stones are on the road again for 15 gigs in North America starting on May 24th.
Rumoured to be a lot of stuff being played from 'Sticky Fingers' which is probably my fave album. Re-releasing it in June.
Nice 'Dead Flowers' on this new DVD coming out with improved audio and video.
Great guitar playing from Mick Taylor.

Not going to any of the gigs.
Following it all on the laptop over here in Spain. Will have to look at this periscope tv thing where you can get live audio feeds from gigs.
Amazing what you can do these days.
A short clip from very back of stadium and very high up. Still seem to be having a Ball up there though. :drinks:

Yes booboo ! I wouldn't mind having their energy when I reach their age , although in this short farewell video they look a bit doddery , but may have had a drink or two. :drinks: https://youtu.be/1APrW4snen4
Also just seen this about Ronnie being a Stone now for 40 years. https://youtu.be/TScTei5gfSM
The whole of the very last show of Tour in North America is on youtube in two parts.

Seeing that it is too hot here in Los Hig to do anything too energetic ,been looking at a few videos from The Stones gigs in Europe last year.
This is one taken by Andreea, a devout Stones fan like me. Met her for the first time in the bar in Zurich where fans met up on this video.
https://youtu.be/InlemlziX3Q
This is when the lucky girl met The Rolling Stones. The only pic of their meeting she has published is at 0:28 secs. Only person I know who has met all four of the lads at the same time.

Someone sent me this link about Keith and his book 'Life' that came out 2 or 3 years ago.
Must have missed it back then, but watched it from start to finish last night.
https://youtu.be/oT-ArKNdtKY
Hi Crawdaddy, got the book will watch the video later. Thanks once again.
The Stones have put this video up on FB page as a London type thing to publicise the exhibition .
Just as I remember it back then.
A very early track that gives out the feeling of London at the time.
Starts in Kings Road area next April and I will be there to see it at some time it is on. :D

Sometimes you don't see much of Charlie in Stones videos, but here's a few when he's is in the spotlight.

Love the stones, Keith Richards on next Friday at 9 not sure what chanel BBC
One to watch
Can't see any Stones or Keith stuff on the TV schedules for Friday night but I've just got freeview so may be missing it.
Keith is due to have a Q and A session in Toronto on September 17th after a documentary about himself called 'Under The Influence ' is having it's first screening.
Meanwhile Ronnie ,Rod and Kenny, who were also in a great band some years back, had a great gig on Saturday.
Wish I had been there. :drinks:

Looks like the South America Tour may be officially announced this month.
Starting about beginning of February and finishing with a date in Cuba about March 20th.
Seriously thinking of going to Montevideo, Buenos Aires and a couple of gigs in Brazil.
Never been to South America and really looking forward to it, if I can make it.
Meanwhile ,I must have missed this fairly recent interview with Keith on Andrew Marr Show.
https://youtu.be/xkuyT7VcyjM
Not many colour clips from the early years but this ones not bad from 1964.

Brill! thanks crawdaddy.
Keith is on Desert Island Discs on Sunday October 25th.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06kb0fw
Charlie is the only other Stone to have done it.
Keith was doing a tribute gig last night at The Apollo Theatre in Harlem N.Y.
A couple of videos of Gimme Shelter which had a wonky bit mid-way , but didn't turn out too bad. They also did 'Happy' which sounded great, but no video yet.
Band was made up of The Winos and a few more.

Someone has recently put together this video of the fantastic Madrid gig from last year.
Right at the start there is a Japanese girl, Sonoko Nimura, who is a big, big fan and see's The Stones all over the world .
I met up with her again at the Madrid show and such a nice person. Sadly she passed away in November 2014, but most of us who knew her only found out in first week of January ,but she is really missed by everyone who knew her.

I have seen a few of them on IORR, the Stones main fansite, but most I've never seen.
Got my flights booked to Rio and should fit in the four Stones gigs in Brazil and hopefully the gig in Montevideo ,which will all be in February and early March next year. :drinks:
Really looking forward to my first ever visit to South America on February 10th.
Rio, Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre in Brazil are the gigs I will see live and it's gonna be great.
Best fans and audience in the world . :drinks:

R.I.P Giorgio Gomelsky A key figure in the Stones History

He certainly was a great character ,and The Stones never looked back after The Crawdaddy Club days at The Railway Hotel in Richmond.
That was in my home town area of Kingston , but I was only 12 at the time , but had heard about this new local London band.
Never did see them live till the early 90's.
A few videos here show what a great character Giorgio was.

The Stones have just announced the name of the new backing singer who will replace Lisa Fischer on the South America Tour.
Her name is Sasha Allen and she is obviously pretty good.

This is the sort of thing I'm really looking forward to at The Maracana Stadium in Rio on February 20th. With or without Bob.

Fantastic!!! wish we could be with you. See you Sunday.
Yes ! I'm really getting geared up for it now .
Got plenty of time to see the sights around Rio before the show on Feb 20th. Carnival will have just ended , but still a few Samba events going on for the first few days I get there.
See you both on Sunday for another great early evening of music at La Cava.
The Stones did two hours of rehearsals yesterday at the Stadium in Santiago , Chile where they play the first gig tomorrow.
Mick and Keith getting in the same car is not seen very often.

A dream come true for me to see them in Brazil. :drinks:

A friend of mine in the grey t-shirt and short grey hair, is in this video and invited to the photo shoot by The Stones.
He is going to every show and then back to Oslo after the Mexico gigs or possibly Cuba if that one comes off.
He runs the biggest Stones fans site, IORR.
It's funny with all the holloring and shouting going ,on that Mick is the only one who may have a clue what they are saying.

A video from Andreea of her Stones experience in Argentina.
She's arrived on the short boat trip to Montevideo for the gig tomorrow.
Looking forward to see this great Stones fan and video maker when I meet her here at Santos Dumont airport in Rio on Thursday.
Rio will be a day and night to remember when The Rolling Stones play Maracana Stadium on Saturday.
Very hot and storms at times over in Rio. Internet is very hit and miss, slow and frustrating when you type messages and they just disappear. I may post more when I get back to UK.
Whooooooo.......................Whoooooooooooo.

I just can't get the video stuff together with all the travelling etc
I think that this is the latest one from Andreea Chelsoi but can also look back at all of her videos here. Some of you who know me, may see my ugly mug in a couple of them. Such a fantastic tour so far. Raining in Sao Paulo at the moment and just about midnight here, but not heavy stuff. My second Stones gig in South America tonight and really looking forward to it. :drinks:

Thank you, fantastic vids.
Back in Blighty till March 15th and then back to Los Higuerales.
Can't put into words how good this gig in Porto Alegre was in the pouring rain
When you get so wet with the heavy stuff really lashing down when Paint it Black started, and you cannot possibly get any wetter , you just don't care.
I am somewhere in that lot and what a fantasic gig it was.

While looking for Cuba videos, came across this one, but can't see it lasting long on youtube. Got the bootleg DVD soon after Glastonbury, but hasn't got the intro. Gonna download it to save as soon as I can.
Lots of worldwide news coverage on youtube of the Cuba gig on Good Friday.
Not very many decent videos of the gig but will post them when I can.

Not posted on music section for a long time, but couldn't resist posting whole gig in good quality of Hamburg show which was less than a week ago .
First show of the Europe Tour and a big shake up of the setlist. Hope it keeps that way with some good old ones in there.
Hoping to see a gig or two but will wait and see.
Just pick out and watch ,which you like out of this really nice setlist.

Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood always look like they are enjoying themselves. Awesome! :You_Rock_Emoticon:
Unfortunately can't make any of the opening gigs of Europe Tour, but my good friend Andreea makes videos of each city and gig she gets to see.
Gives you some idea of what it can be like to be a Stones fan of any age ,when you get to know each other.
Lovely people from all over the world.
