The resent post by Rodney of PP appears a little misleading as below.

"You will have read Edni's post published today stating that the Town Hall has accepted and issued a further 3 AFOs.  Applications for AFOs are picking up and it is obvious people are realising that this is the best route to obtain an escritura under the present clime because there is no sight of when, if ever, Innovation 14 will materialise.

If you are still contemplating, or unsure about the AFO and its implications, get legal advice from a lawyer who is fully conversant with AFOs and will allay any doubts you may have regarding its authenticity.   The process is fairly straightforward and is relatively a lot cheaper than sticking to Innovation 14."

There is no problem with applying for an AFO now the objection by various neighbours has been resolved and it does give you deeds to house and land, so could be a good tool if you wish to sell or just simply want deeds to show ownership, but it is not cheaper than the official Project, as it is not an alternative to the said project as it does not make your land fully urban or give you full rights of an urban house, AFO means excepted outside of the law, which means it does not give you full legal status.
Unfortunatly you have to stick with the project there is no opt out as it is in progress, in reality it is a more expensive route as it will cost for the AFO and the project, though some of these costs cover both routes.
So the AFO has is place but does not present an alternative, it is a tool to gain deeds fairly quickly but does not make the land urban consolidated, this can only be done with the PERI.

                 Regards Mike.
