I think studying the image a long exposure was used. The reason I would say this is that you can see trails of the stars, small straight lines. It was possibly an aircraft but not necessarily vapour trail.

Did you take the image on a long exposure setting or was it in automatic. the EXIF data of the image will show what the settings were. I would be very interested if this conclusion is correct.
