Using filmon is the basics for internet TV. If that's all you want then smart TV's are fine. Using a smart TV or android box for internet browsing can be done, but PCs, tablets or phones are better at doing it.
If anyone puts an android box in the bin it is because:
a) it is bady set up
b) they have not had correct instruction on how to use it
C) their internet connection is not fast enough
d) the WiFi receiver in the box is not good

Android boxes or more specifically Kodi/XBMC are about 24/7 access to the latest TV series and movies with the added benefit of live UK TV via filmon, sky and BT sports chanels and live sports such as 3:00pm kick off football although the sports are less reliable than the first three.

We got ours 6 months ago and it's brill. We watch filmon tv and dont get any trouble at all. Same cant be said of our friends android box I think it ended in the bin. If you get a key pad for your smart tv you can use it like a pc, ie, e mails etc.

Hi Andy,
Thanks so much for that information. It's what himself thought too, but wanted to be sure before we purchased.

Thanks again.

Hi
Smart tvs are not that smart! Unless they have an android operating system you cannot install kodi so it only gives you basic internet access and subscription services such as Netflix. You are better to get a standard TV and a well set up android box.

Hi,
Has anyone bought a smart TV here is Spain. If so what are the benefits over an ordinary TV, ie does it replace an android box, can we download apps etc etc etc?
Thanking you in advance  :tiphat:
