Title: Reinforced Concrete Retaining Wall
Post by: Dave and Sue on August 23, 2017, 09:19:20 AM
Hi All
Has anyone had one of these built and can give me a basic idea of cost?
Ours will need to be about 1Mt out of the ground and 50Mts long

Just looking for a guide price to see if the project is viable

Thanks in advance  Regards Dave

yer steel reed bar for yer cages is around 1.10 per kilo plus labour

yer concreat is around 75e per cube plus vat

a 50m wall could be open wallet surgery.

no idea steve

id just go to the builders merchants and ask for a price based on the spec.

however i now think that you might have been showing what might be considered to be a sense of humor ;)

i await your straight faced reply

regards as ever

As a rough guess on what our neighbours paid to have their wall extended from 1 metre to 2 metres (no ground work) I don't think you would get change from 2,500 - but I'm not a builder - get some quotes in.

Tets
For a shuttered and poured wall
I dont have a spec as i was only trying to get a ball park  idea for comparrison aginst a "H Block and Steel" construction before
i got a license. I was just hoping for some usefull input as opposed to sarky comments!

SSSA was obviously ****** of as i didnt want him to quote for a block wall

Thanks for the sensible replies by PM "" Now sorted""

Regards Dave

sorry but you couldnt of been more wrong. people like you wouldnt be able to upset me even if you tried   :19: :19:

concrete work of that nature is a specialised job requiring specialist equipment that most general builders dont have.
i was just pointing out the alternative that most builders would employ instead.
in fact i asked a spanish builder friend of mine (on your behalf) if he had the equipment , he didnt and for the reasons already stated he didnt want to touch it either.
me and tetley often have a banter but it seems that you left your sense of humor whever it was you came from
so good luck with it, i have a feeling you might need it
