If its a "steel pool" with a vinyl liner the vinyl is essential to stop the water escaping. I couldn't find anybody with the skills to replace my vinyl liner so I stripped it out and had the pool re-lined with fibre glass which was then covered with a gel coat.
I am pleased with the outcome and it is still in good condition 4 years after the conversion. The job was expensive though - $2,400.

Can anyone help?

We have an 8 x 4 pool with a vinyl liner that is nearly seven years and has got so tatty that we are considering replacing it with a new one or having it taken out and painting "the hole".   We would much rather do a paint job, as the calcium in the water has been the cause of the damage done. Although we have completely emptied and cleaned it every spring, I dont think we want to go through any more hassle, we want to start again from scratch.

Can anyone reccommend a company that could give us some guideance on removing the liner and repainting at a reasonable cost.

Thankyou in advance of any replies received.
