I had the same problem with a motorhome that I just bought. It worked on gas but not mains electric.
So we had a weekend away and when we returned I tried the 230v again and it had started working.
In the meantime I had searched the web for a replacement, check this one for value:

The only problem I could see would be finding a competent person to install it.
Good luck

Always nice to have another link.
Used these before.

i have a motorhome that has a 3 way fridge, runs on gas and 12 volt and mains electric, which doesn't appear to be getting cold.
Does anyone know a reliable person who could have a look and fix this please?
how long has it stoo unused?, have you left it off while driving round bendy roads,it can all affect it

Thanks for the info, I have a 3 way fridge in my caravan with a 12 volt fan. Could never understand why I had to switch it on to keep it cold - now I get it !

I would think Hispavan could fix that for you...

Sounds like a refrigerant gas leak, might be cheaper to bin it and replace the fridge unit.

You'd know if it was leaking, they run on ammonia !
That's a 2nd hand one in yer link so no real comeback if it doesn't work

Does it run on any of them ?
If it doesn't then it would be unusual.
On gas & 12v once ambient temp is Around/above 30Âșc then they need fan assistance to the outlet to draw air through. They actually sell fans with stats to come in to assist . I didn't know about them until recently. Try it on mains to see whether that works. For some reason mains isn't affected by the temperature & should ice up in fridge  & freezer.
