When we bought our home in Arboleas, we planted an interesting "stick" from our previous garden in Roquetas left by the spanish owners.  Two summers later and it has developed into a fantastic tree, now covered in yellow fruit. Investigation on the web (and seeing the fruit at the markets) we found out that the fruit are nispero - part of the medlar family. After noticing that our spanish neighbours have a similar tree and had recently covered theirs in a large net, we did a similar thing.  They are now picking the fruit, so are we, and are pleasantly surprised at how tasty it is.  I've found a recipe and plan to make nispero jam soon.

Has anyone had any experience of propagating from the seeds?  We'd love to provide plants to our friends and family if it's possible.
