Hi all,
As many of you may know, PIRdA's workshop is currently located in Arboleas between Sophia's gym and the pool bar. Sadly, it has just been confirmed to us by the ayuntamiento de Arboleas that we will now have to cease our activities on 30th September as they are no longer able to allow us to continue there. We have always been very grateful for the usage of the premises over the past few years in order to carry out PIRdA's work for the local communities. Unfortunately we have been left with very little time before we have to cease activities there. Two weeks in fact, so we may need your help in finding an alternative location for our workshop if we are unable to find somewhere ourselves in the short time we have left.
I have already been in communication with Maura Hillen the deputy mayor of Albox and who has been fantastic in trying to locate an alternative location for PIRdA. But due to a lack of suitable locations sadly, Maura was ultimately unable to help us at this time but we thank her for her gallant efforts in trying.

I contacted Lola Garcia the deputy mayor of Zurgena yesterday.  Lola immediately contacted the Mayor Luis Garcia and both are now very kindly trying to see if they are able to find us a suitable location in Zurgena. If Zurgena aren't able to help us, does anyone know of any premises that we may be able to relocate to in the Albox/ /Alfoquía/ Zurgena area?  We are looking for a taller or part of a nave approximately 5m x 5m. We are a non-profit making association. We do not sell items to raise revenue for PIRdA. We rely on the kind generosity of cash donations made, the majority of which are used to buy spare parts in order to refurbish the computers we donate.

The pending cease order also presents us with another issue.  Our predicament has forced us to have a massive clear-out of old stock until such time as we know whether we are able to relocate or are forced to cease entirely.  That in turn means all our efforts will be concentrated on clearing old stock, rather than refurbishing computers for donation. So if anyone has any computers you intend to donate we hope you to bear with us and would ask if would kindly hold on to them for the time being please?  At least until such time as we know what our fate is?

It seems quite ironic to be in this situation as both Albox Computer Club and PIRdA were honoured with 3 separate awards for contributions to the community over a two month period this summer, all of which were presented to the founder of both, David Shear.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us and made donations of both computer equipment and cash to us in the past. It is you who have enabled us to do what we do for those who are less fortunate.  If anyone has any information they think may be of assistance to us I would be extremely grateful if you would contact me (Christine) directly on the email address below please.

Many thanks.

Best wishes from Albox computer club and all the PIRdA team.
