Brazing weld

Thanks Tetley, last time I went to Pepins, it looked like they were closed, or someone else owned it. I'll attempt to make the patch myself and make it easier form who ever repairs it.

TIG  will be difficult but it can be tig brazed if its clean

easiest way  is

it needs oxy/acet welding or brazing

pepin was set up for oxy acet have a word with him ,i used his gear a few years ago to braze a tank and repair a kwak  moto cross frame   .
Analogue mechanically  trained 1970,s Fitter  dear living  in a gone digital/tecno mad O Dearie me world......thankfully left behind with it all ,enjoying the bliss of NO phones ,  apps and  shortage of the intellectual, wile still managing to hone underachievement on the day to day in the sun  lol

Would brazing be up to the job for for patching up exhaust downpipes? Or where could I take the downpipe to patch up some pin holes, bearing in mind it's quite thin metal? My welding would disintegrate the whole lot :)   Ta
