Hola,

Just do your take on it, there are loads of drummers out there in Youtube land that have it all down perfectly, one of them even wears his fez type hat!!

To have the ability to attempt their work is enough for me.

Great links, thank you.

Recent Skype conversation with my youngest, the guitarist, ended with him saying that when he next comes over he wants to get in the studio with me and jam Spirit of Radio and would that be OK? I rather stupidly said yes but, straight after the call ended I was walking around the room saying "What have I done????"

Hoping he'll forget by the time he's next over........

Hola,

Yep, I only recently discovered Mr Hacketts reworked material, nice to hear some classics tweaked!

Such a shame there's little chance of seeing the likes on tour again, still there are more or less jubilados now!!

Ah yes, Genesis, I can listen to them all day but here's a twist, Steve Hackett on one of his Genesis Revisited tours with the late great John Wetton on vox:

Not bad for a cover band eh  (Not quite true of course since Mr Hackett co-wrote it all)

Hola owdoggy,

Same with Genesis, some beautifully worked medleys usually involving "In the Cage/Musical Box/Afterglow, that sort of combo. They went right back to their very first material at one gig, the fans love it.

Rush take some beating for a live set, true musicians, at long last accepted into the Hall of Fame!

Rush have always been a fave of mine. This intro, made up of a medley of their more famous songs is just stunning.

I love bands who create new material just for touring, Jethro Tull used to do it. They would have a piece of music to link two songs or maybe a new instrumental just by itself and you could never hear this new music unless you went to the gigs. This was before the interweb took off of course. :))
