I can confirm that the Exclusive Shuttle company are still operating to and from Alicante airport. You can get on/off at the motorway junction, Hotel Overa. I'm using this company very soon to the airport and returning on the 17th of december. Please use this service, they are very reliable and highly recommended....

Looks like they stopped the service to this area in March from looking at the link you posted

I've only been to the area twice  as buying in the area and each time I've had to hire a car from Alicante and Murcia  because of poor transport links.
