Title: Pink balls
Post by: sleepy john on August 17, 2017, 08:48:18 AM
I see on the news that in order to play cricket under floodlights, a pink ball is required. I understand this. What I don't understand are the statements that a different coloured ball will affect the play. So I am asking my learned forum members why a pink ball could affect the outcome of the match. :PDT_Armataz_01_37:

Moeen Ali, doesn't seem to think there'll be a problem.
As to the difference. Red cricket ball can be dyed but Pink ball have to painted and then lacquered to preserve the paint. Matches vary from game to game so therefore they are unpredictable. One things for sure, it will be very interesting.

 It's a cunning plan.
First they start showing women's cricket on telly.
Next they start playing with pink balls.
After that, comes gender neutral Umpires.
Don't think Dickie Bird would get that job.

Happily,   :19: It is not unusual for someone takes offence if ever differences in pigmentation is mentioned on the forum.
