Title: Specialist needed
Post by: steveconway24 on October 29, 2013, 11:07:43 AM
Odd one this, I need either a good shoplifter, or anyone who possibly owns a shop that has the means to remove an alarm tag.

My mum has sent me a present from the states, a T shirt, but it still has the alarm tag attatched to the collar.
It is the type with ink inside it, so mole grips and brute force will ruin the shirt.

Can anyone help?

(Shoplifters can PM me so you don't give yourself away!)

This is what it looks like, I know the smaller tags can be romoved using a drilled magnet, but this is quite big.

C & A in Lorca have these type of tags but Im not sure if they are exactly the same. I had a similar problem with something purchased in Debenhams and they didnt remove the tag. They told me that most of the tags were "Dummy" tags and thats why it didnt set the alarms off and also they had no ink in them.

Thanks Marge.
C&A a bit too far to go for a $20 T Shirt, I'm think about leaving it in the freezer over night to harden up the ink, if its in there, then cutting it off tomorrow.
Unless anyone knows of a shop in Albox.

Sorted now, thanks for the PM. (No names)

IF anyone else has this problem, hold the bit carefully that has the ink in it, in a vice.  Get an angle grinder and remove the plastic cone, then with a pair of needle nose pliers, remove the 4 BB's. The pin then just slides out.
