:police: I am now in my 80's. About 65 odd years ago or so, I used to play a lot of football (soccer) as a semi professional, usually in goal.
I do not watch a lot of football these days, professional football is all about money now! However I watched the Cup Final today and I was amazed to see the goalkeepers run halfway up the pitch carrying the ball?
Was the referee blind or have the rules changed since my day? We could only take 4 paces with the ball, any further and the jolly old whistle would go and it was either a penalty or a free kick?
I know that I will be regarded as an 'old codger' but if the rule has changed surely there is nothing to stop the goal keeper running up the pitch with the ball and throw in the other goal??? :whistle:
