WATER AND URBAN UPDATE 25th July 2011

We have had several meetings with the head of Galasa regarding the progress in getting everyone connected with water contracts. There is agreement that this will be done quickly.
Galasa wants to work barriada by barriada, and want to start in Los Higuerales and Limaria, where there is no problem with any missing water infrastructure.
There appears to be no problem with any documentation required.

We have also discussed the funding of the connection fee to the network where it is the Town Council responsibility or that of the builder. It is not the responsibility of the house owner.

We are in the process of arranging an agreement with Procoal regarding the funding of missing documentation such as building licences, legalization projects, segregation costs and the value of land which has to be ceded to the Council.
We so far have general agreement in principle but everything has yet to be costed.

This is the start of detailed work and negotiations which will be taking place barriada by barriada and builder by builder.
We will inform those affected when we require action on your part.
