There's a saying given to me by United Utilities water company employees.
If it's yellow let it mellow.
If it's brown flush it down.
Can save an awful lot of water this way.

might sound odd, but I take two buckets into the shower to collect the water while its warming up. Surprising how much this collects, then use it to flush the toilet  (wee only!) Also have guttering around house running into 6 water butts, very useful for  the few plants that need it. Almeria is so short on water, we must think of ways to conserve it. No good just moaning and doing nothing.

Good point.  And, hopefully, the "authorities" will be making the under-utilised de-salination plant fully operational in the near future.

Let us all be aware of how much water we are using, with so little rain it is bound to be rationed this summer and it is no good moaning after the horse has bolted.
