Best way is to get a heat pump and power that with a solar array. Google Bimble solar and take a look. 5kW heat pump will only need a 1.1kW solar array
to power it for free. Very efficient method of heating pool together with a summer cover overnight to keep the heat in.

I presume your talking about a water solar panel not an electric one . It can and is often done however if you plan to DIY then you really need a few things to make the calculations to see if its viable in terms of return for costs .You will need to know things like pool volume , size of panel intended , flow rate , the best you can hope to get from all the calculations will be the temperature increase over a particular time however the ambient temperature and pool baseline temperature will also have an effect on the projected results .

I would suggest research through Google or other means so you can at least make an informed decision before parting with any money .
