prune rose's

Not now in case there is a frost.  I used to do as the Spanish do and cut mine down to about knee height in December then prune hard in late Feb or March when the chance of frost is over.  If there is any warmth at all a prune will stimulate growth and if they grow now they may get frost damage.

However I tend to be busiest around Feb March and am to and from UK on business.  I just didn't get around to the hard prune so the last 2 years I have just pruned right back a week or so before Christmas and I have a wonderful show of roses from Spring right through to December. 

I don't think you can go far wrong with roses out here - they love it.  Main thing is to prune or they grow very big and messy

Oh yes.  They do tend to go a bit dormant in the scorching heat of mid summer and I do a half prune then to ensure a good show in September
