COMMUNITY CARE

Any of us may require help in the home, after an operation or because of old age.
Home Help is available here but you have to know the requirements to claim under the Law of Dependency.

1. You have to have live in Spain for at least 5 years. Therefore it is vital that you are registered on the Padron as proof of this.

2. You must be registered as a Resident in Spain. Therefore you must have an up to date Certificate of Residence. Many people have not bothered or have not renewed when their card has run out, because they do not see the use of the new paper certificate.

You do not want to face the problem of getting a Residence Certificate, which usually takes months, when you suddenly need help.
