Small Building Licences

Many people have been waiting for approval of their requests for building licences for small works, such as casetas, garages, house extensions, patios.

The legal situation is that, as a result of the urban plan prepared plan by the previous administration, we have been unable to issue these licences. This is because most of the houses in Arboleas (with the exception of houses in the old urban centres of the Town Centre, La Cinta and Venta Mateo) were classified as non consolidated.

We have been looking for a way to un block this situation in a way which will not result in a legal challenge. We have therefore been discussing the problem with the Urban Works officials in Almeria and have produced a new regulation.

This new regulation was presented to the recent Comision Informativa.
This new regulation will be approved by the Pleno (full Council Meeting) next week and will then be published in the Boletin de Almeria.
If it is not challenged within 30 days it will become a local by law, and we will be able to start to approve these applications.
In the meantime we have prepared all the documentation on the hundreds of outstanding licence applications in order to ensure there will be as little delay as possible as soon as the new regulation comes into force.
