CATASTRAL REGISTRATION

We are beginning to receive information regarding those houses which are registered for Council Tax (IBI) and who will therefore start to pay from April 2012.
The information is coming through in sections, barriadas by barriadas.
The registration is by the name of the house owner but we do not have the addresses. Of course we have always known that there would be a problem with addresses and is an issue we will have to resolve.

Many houses are registered but many are not.
The reasons why houses are not registered vary. It may be that the Town Hall and the abogado did not complete the documents when the escritura was registered, or it may be that there is an error with the documentation. Or simply that the documents have been mislaid when sent to Almeria.

Our first priority is to ensure that every property is registered as soon as possible.
I will soon be publishing the list, barriada by barriada, of the names of people who ARE registered.
We will be asking people who are not registered to come to the Town Hall as soon as possible with all the documents they have for their house so that the Town Hall officials can help you complete the registration documents.

In parallel with this process I will be checking the registered names against the Padron Register and the street maps to allocate the correct address to the registration information. We will then be able to complete the registration process for those houses which are still not registered.

We will soon be publishing information regarding the documents you need for your house, and what will happen if any are missing.
