the article i think you are referring to is in the Almeria Living magazine on pages 6 and 7 by Mike Woolnough.
the bit i liked was that 24 billion Litres of water or 24 million tons fell on 72 sq km of Zurgena in 12 hrs :wave

Looks like we could be getting some more rain.
There is a warning on aemet, for the east coast of Spain.

Sorry can't help re: a link.  I think it's simply an anomaly?  It has certainly happened before in the area but obviously only on a very infrequent basis.

The fact that the ground was so hard/dry obviously made things so much worse.

I feel sure that I recently read an excellent posting by a local weatherman about the recent rainfall but search as I may I cannot find the link can anyone help please. The person who wrote it mentioned about how is electronic rain meter was below water and also compared the rainfall of Malaga to almeria and gave how many tons of water had fallen.
