Old oil disposal.

If it is old cooking oil there are lots of collection points beside the bins in Huercal-Overa.  I think I've also seen them in Lorca.

Probably !. The Spaniards just tip the oil in the container & then throw the empty container in a bin down the road.
It doesn't bother me as I just reuse them.

No ,this is actually in the council recycling yard , would you believe.   :rofl: You can tip the oil but cannot throw the containers away. The first time I thought he was taking the **** but when I said what am I supposed to do with them he said , " No Idea, we cannot take them as they are classed as hazardous waste & require specialist disposal." I know that in the UK but at least there they can tell you what to do with them. lol

The basura collection oragnisation ought to be responsible for dealing with the containers thats their biz thats what they get paid for and thats why i pay them, Steve Conway,  forum member is probably best qualified to answer the question

At the rear of the BP fuel station where the bins are there is a depository for used oil its like a pozo with a lid, you can put the used containers in the bin.

Can you actually throw the containers away down there , because up here that is the one thing nobody can tell you what you can do with? They'll tell you you can pour away the old oil in the container but will make sure that the containers you brought it in go home with you. The council have no means or answer to what you can do with them except that you cannot throw them away. ???

If it is good sealed containers it can be left at any rubbish collection point.
