This has got into more of a like / dislike thread. So it is now locked. Let's leave it that some people like the place other do not.  We all have our preferences of where to eat and where we do not.

'' only television was through filmon ''.

Well,I can watch TV at home and don't do much of that these days.

For me ,a pub or bar is to socialise, maybe have a meal, have a bit of live entertainment at times, and  relax with a cold lager.    I just love a bar that hasn't got TV.  :drinks:

What's the big deal about less than 80 posts  ?   Is there a minimum requirement to post on this forum ?  I don't understand.

I'm afraid that in the heat I need air conditioning - nothing worse than dripping into your dinner! :)

Good to know, Jedslam and Valliant, thanks! We haven't had the chance to get to La Vida yet but we certainly miss Maria and Pedro at the Trinidad!

Have noticed that the majority of posters have less than 80 posts.does this mean anything ?, five of us were in La vida on friday, only television was through filmon which was breaking up (possibly a bigger dish would have solved the problem but this would have involved more money) it was hot and the aircon was not turned on( we were told it was not allowed because it was too expensive) despite the fact that it is advertised as being air conditioned, once again I've put my head above the parapet

Totally agree Valliant.......................been again today, Maria and Pedro warm and welcoming. a lot more than you can say for many a local bar.  They just need to be given the chance to run it as they want to!!!

Karen you obviously haven't been to la vida (not the Trinidad) Maria and Pedro are now the managers and trying to mix the english menu with spanish so not one meat dish and one fish dish. It is early days yet and l went today where sunday roast was served until 4pm the free tapas(at present) and music in the garden very pleasant and welcoming. l just hope the owners give them a chance to establish their style ofmanagement so they don't have to keep looking over their shoulders. Good luck Maria and Pedro l for one will be paying a return visit.

Where is La Vida? I like places without a Menu, where they know what the chef is cooking and those are the choices for today. It's somehow more authentic.
It's at Cucador. They usually offer either a fish or a meat dish, of whatever they have on the day. Nice and fresh!

On that recommendation we shall be visiting again soon, yes Terry, we will. I really hope things pick up as the location is good for me

We tried out La Vida last night as it was under new management. There were four of us and we all agreed that the food was very good. They did not have a written menu but the staff all spoke English and were very friendly. It was a shame that it was nearly empty and we hope that more people will give it a try.
