I would also say that a taxi tour is very worth the money, so much is explained to you and its much easier on the feet, we didn't regret doing it

We have stayed in this hotel on several occasions.
Asur Hotel Campo de Gibraltar you can get it on Trivago.
Be aware the parking in this area of la Linea can be a problem.
You can still get parked but its a bit like Benidorm when you spot a place park and leave your car.
The hotel is a very good standard and is only 5 mins from Gib
A tip, I suggest you walk across the border and airfield and purchase an all day bus ticket makes it very easy to get around.

dont stop in gibraltar the hotels are too expensive.i always use the asur hotel in la linea de la concepcion, only a 500 meter walk to border

Ditto

don't go over the boarder in a car  it's a nightmare

also don't forget that duty free allowance means just that

you have to pay duty on lots of goods bought in Gib because it's not an EU country

We got caught in this trap bring back cigis

The Sunborn Hotel is gorgeous, a yacht moored in the harbour. We're considering a couple of nights there when we get married in Gibraltar.

check out the Bristol Hotel, probable 1 of the more cost effective ones.
the Queens, the Rock, the Caleta are more costly.
Its still a long walk across the airfield, then past the football ground
and then into the Town.
Don't know if the buses are still running from the border?
Have a nice trip and be careful around the apes.

I'm never having kids, I hear they take 9 months to download...
