It's a tank that stores water so if you get cut off or the pressure drops you have a "back up" supply until the water comes back on....but we use our tank all the time as the water is pumped at pressure from it into the house. It used to fill up overnight when the pressure increased enough but now it doesn't fill up at all

We live "nearer the top"..Los Huevanillas and can't get any water at all to reach the house from our meter through lack of pressure..We have had to install a pump at a cost of  350 euros to us, to pull the water up the hill, past the meter and into our deposito.Once in our deposito it is pumped into the house,as we also had to pay for that..All this expense was necessary in the last couple of years as before then the normal water pressure flowed straight from the meter to our house with more than enough pressure. What has changed since then?No more houses built.

WATER SUPPLY IN ARROYO ACEITUNO

There are regular cuts in water supply, particularly affecting Los Garcias and Los Carrascos.
This is especially a problem for people with no private depositos.

We have been in contact with Galasa who confirm that there is a problem of low levels of water in the main depositos which feeds this area.
This is a matter which has been a concern to the Town Hall for some time, although the system is under the control of Galasa.

We are discussing this issue with the chief engineer who is responsible for the supply network to see what solution they have.

The supply comes from artesian wells in the hills at the top of Arboleas, but we have been concerned for some tine that these are not sufficient to supply all the new demand, and we have asked for the system to be topped up from the desalinisation plant in Carboneras.
